Dear Readers,
Eckhard Supp releases comprehensive report on SA wines
Esteemed German journalist, Dr Eckhard Supp, released what he calls his "South African alla grande" tasting report, after his recent visit at Cape Wine Europe 2012.  In addition to his tasting at CWE, he also tasted a line-up of wines not available at the event.  The accumulative report is available here:  http://www.enobooks.de/english/south-africa-alla-grande
Talking to him in London, he seemed super excited and impressed with the quality of South African wines and referred to a "paradigm shift" over the last 3 to 5 years. This bodes well for the SA category in Germany.  You can also follow Eckhard on Twitter: @enoworldwine
New appointment in the Netherlands
WOSA is delighted to announce  that Sara Channell has been appointed, as from 1 January 2012,  to be the new Market Manager for the Benelux where she will take over all responsibilities for this market from Annette Badenhorst.  Annette and Sara are already busy with a comprehensive handover to ensure that this change will take place as smoothly as possible.
Sara is South African but has lived in the Netherlands for more than a decade.  She has extensive experience with working with Dutch wine importers (Great Grapes, Baarsma, Poot Agenturen) and is also a highly qualified wine expert.  Among other wine qualifications, she was a lecturer at the Cape Wine Academy.  Sara also worked in England for a while at Raisin Social, one of the largest importers of South African wines in the UK.  She knows the Dutch and Belgian wine markets very well, speaks fluent Dutch, German and French,  and already has strong relationships with the press, the trade and sommelier guilds.  We are very happy to have her on board.

Afrikaans available on request.

Kind Regards Andre
