Fairtrade Label South Africa is an NPO which was established in 2008, but signed a Marketing Agreement with Fairtrade Labelling Organisations International (FLO) on 14 April 2009, to market the internationally known Fairtrade Label on the South African market. The main objectives of Fairtrade Label South Africa are:

• to promote the Fairtrade Label in South Africa;
• to promote social and economic development among the beneficiary community;
• to liaise with Labelling Initiatives globally and Fairtrade Labelling Organisations International (FLO);
• to develop the market for Fairtrade labelled products in South Africa
