Lammershoek's first harvest towards organic farming
The lead up to the 2010 harvest was a bold one - this was the first year of conversion towards organic farming. In the past we had already reduced our spraying cycle to the absolute minimum as well as not used fertilizers for a number of years. But in 2009/10 all 96ha of vineyards on Lammershoek were sprayed using only sulphur and copper and no systemic sprays to control vineyard diseases.

Oranjerivier prepares for quality and volume in Harvest 2010
Suitably dry conditions and healthy vineyards have lead to Oranjerivier Wine Cellars predicting a marked increase in volumes for this year's harvest over the relatively low-yield 2009 season. Some 145,000 tons of grapes are expected to be harvested, compared to last year's figure of 106,000 tons.

Douglas Green Harvest 2010 - the good, the bad and the smiling
2010 has been loaded with activity for Douglas Green. We are in fact just finishing off the last of the harvest in what has been a tricky vintage for most, but has left our Oenologist, Jaco Potgieter, smiling.
