Due to the type of tastings and events, we need to keep the total number of producers between 8 and 10. This is not a generic tasting, it is a series of trade, media and consumer activities that are small in overall scope but that are geared to reach key influencers in each market. For Canada that will involve liquor board product consultant tastings, consumer tastings and media and sommelier activity. For the US, it will involve much the same but with private wine shops in place of liquor boards.
First choice will go to principals/winemakers who are able to attend themselves as this creates the biggest draw for the people we are trying to reach. Another important point for both countries is that you must already have an importer and you also must already have distribution in the cities we are targeting.
You can choose to put your hand up for both Canada and the US or for only one leg of the trip. However, preference will be given to producers wishing to take part in the entire Road Show. This is a pay to play initiative whereby we will put Wines of South Africa budget toward planning and execution but also expect participating producers to pay in. Flights and accommodation will all be at producers’ expense.
