For the first time, Wines of South Africa (WoSA), and flagship partner DHL, is working with Fairtrade Africa at ProWein 2024, to deliver a series of seminars highlighting the importance of Fairtrade wines in the country and the positive work the organization is doing to improve the lives and communities in the Cape winelands. Over the course of the three-day show, held in Düsseldorf from 10 to 12 March 2024, there will be seven seminars, focusing on the stories of South African brands that carry the Fairtrade mark.

South Africa is the largest producer of Fairtrade wines and with the industry’s commitment to sustainability, both social and environmental, this is an important story to communicate. A full list of themes and timings will be released on the WoSA ProWein website in due course.

In addition, the 2024 Wines of South Africa pavilion will see an impressive range of 77 producers, represented in Hall 14. A full list of exhibitors is available on the Wines of South Africa ProWein website, along with a floor plan.

Visitors who are proactive in terms of their upfront planning will be able to create lists of exhibiting producers as well as the wines that will be presented at the fair, in order to pre-arrange meetings, thanks to the digital catalogue.

The Wines of South Africa stand will also feature the ‘Discover South Africa’ themed tasting zone, proudly sponsored by DHL. This is a free pour area where visitors can explore a number of regional themes. In the morning, from 10:00 - 13:00, the trade will be able to sample Cap Classiques from Franschhoek, Sauvignon Blanc from Durbanville, Chenin Blanc from Paarl, Chardonnay from Robertson and Pinot Noir from the Hemel and Aarde regions.

In the afternoon, from 14:00 until 17:00, attendees can explore the vinous delights of a range of Cap Classique, Constantia Sauvignon Blancs, Chardonnay from Elgin, Old Vine certified wines from Stellenbosch, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon from this region.

The Wines of South Africa team will be available to answer any queries on the information booth at block C80 in Hall 14 within the ‘Discover South Africa’ tasting zone.
