The Durbanville Wine Route is well-known for its superb wine farms. Get to know my TOP 5 wine farms which I recommend you visit soon.

BLOEMENDAL WINE ESTATE

This vast wine estate situated a mere 30 minutes from Cape Town city, has so much to offer. From casual al fresco dining with the kids playing merrily while you enjoy a delicious meal at Bon Amis, to a rustic outdoor and rather vibey Rosé Garden where you can chill with friends and a bottle or two of their award-winning wines. Definitely worth a mention is their wine tasting area where the friendly team will guide you through your pairing options (and they offer kids pairings too!). A new addition to the estate’s offerings, is 360° at Bloemendal Estate which boasts a wine tasting room and trail bar & social café with magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean and the City.

GROOT PHESANTEKRAAL WINES & RESTAURANT

This gorgeous wine estate, working farm, restaurant & tasting room will have you in awe of the beautiful vistas, decadent meals - described as contemporary country style, and elegant wines in a historic setting. Their lovely restaurant is located in restored mule stables, so be sure to enquire about the interesting history and how the building has been refurbished to its current glorious state.

Take note that the restaurant is currently closed for a Winter break until the 15th July, but please do support them when they’re open again. It certainly is well worth the wait! In the meantime, you can sip and savour their wines at the new Tasting Rooms as this area will be open during Winter.
