Best Sommelier of The Netherlands Championship – 14th May 2018
On Monday May 14th, Wines of South Africa was one of the sponsors for the Best Sommelier of The Netherlands Championship organized by the Dutch Guild of Sommeliers. The 16 participants were all from renowned restaurants in The Netherlands and the competition was very tough.
Sara Channell (WOSA Netherlnads) and Lendl Mijnhijmer of Restaurant Bougainville (winner)
The overall winner was Lendl Mijnhijmer of Restaurant Bougainville in the luxurious Hotel Twentyseven in Amsterdam. He will also represent The Netherlands at the ASI International Sommelier Championships in Belgium in 2019. We are delighted to be welcoming Lendl to CapeWine in September later this year to show him the quality and diversity of South African Wines and help him prepare for the international championship next year.
