WINE PROFESSIONAL: 13-15 JANUARY 2020

There was a keen interest for quality wines from South Africa with and the stand was busy all three days. There was a strong South African presence at the event with individual producers exhibiting, but also importers showcasing their South African wines from their portfolios.

Sommelier Arjen Pleij from Kasteel Engelenburg hosted a fantastic food and wine masterclass with their kitchen team, introducing some new top South African wines that recently became available in the market.

This year we focussed on wines that had achieved a 5-star rating in the latest Platter’s Guide, including some of the favourites from our sommelier guests during the trip in 2019

.

The selection proved successful with the stand getting compliments for the high quality and diversity of the wines, all aimed at gastronomy. It is clear that there is still interest for new wines from South Africa – both on wine lists and with importers looking for new wineries.
