Following a hiatus of 3 years, Wines of South Africa (WoSA) returned to the world’s largest wine trade show, ProWein, held annually in Düsseldorf, Germany. This year the show which took place from 19-21 March, attracted 49,000 trade visitors from 141 countries around the world, who visited roughly 6,000 exhibitors over the three days.
Wines of South Africa (WoSA) is returning to ProWein International Trade Fair for Wines and Spirits, in Germany, to be held on 19th to 21st March 2023, with the greatest number of exhibitors ever to have a presence on the generic pavilion.
Despite a decline of 5% in export volumes, the South African wine industry remains focused on its road to recovery following the pandemic. It is positive to see that export value has only seen a 2.4% decline, with Rand per litre on a whole, showing marginal growth as producers navigate rising costs, shipping challenges and shortages in the supply of packaging goods.
