On Monday the 3rd of December, Wines of South Africa hosted a Platter’s 5* masterclass and lunch for media and trade in The Lobby, Amsterdam.
On 27 October 2018 the 1st Edition of The Grand Tasting Zimbabwe concluded successfully in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Echoing its glorious pedigree since 1904, The Victoria Falls Hotel offered a five-star experience of pure grandeur for the first WOSA Training and Tasting in the area. As a regional event for Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe The Grand Tasting attracted key trade players to receive Wine Education and sample an array of South African wine during the exhibition. A total of 3 pre-events where hosted prior to the main trade day which included a Wine Training, Press Brief and Cocktail for Exhibitors, distributors and purchasing personnel.
On the 15th of June, the whole world was celebrating Chenin Blanc Day! As part of this, Wines of South Africa in Sweden hosted a #drinkchenin After Work at the legendary Eriks Vinbar in Stockholm.
On Monday May 14th, Wines of South Africa was one of the sponsors for the Best Sommelier of The Netherlands Championship organized by the Dutch Guild of Sommeliers. The 16 participants were all from renowned restaurants in The Netherlands and the competition was very tough.
South Africa was ubiquitous at this year’s VINITALY, which took place in April in Verona, Italy.
On the first of February Wines of South Africa had their annual Platter 5 Star Tasting at Restaurant Gondolen in Stockholm. This time we also had the pleasure to have WOSA´s CEO, Siobhan Thompson at the tasting. A great line up of wines were presented to the visitors. We had the tasting in a walking format with the bottles lined up on tables with white table cloths, and beside every wine an information sign with technical details about the wines was put up. In addition, a list of the wines was also given to the guests with added information such as the name of the importer.
Wines of South Africa participated in Wine Professional from 8 to 10 January 2018. This is the biggest wine trade show in The Netherlands (10.000 visitors) – attracting key importers, media, wine shops and on-trade.
